Planning a Weekend Near Udaipur — A Simple Itinerary
A weekend near Udaipur doesn't need to be over-planned. Most guests staying at Niva split it roughly like this.
Day one — arrive, do nothing
Check in, get settled, and skip the itinerary entirely. The point of arriving at a villa in the hills is the drive down from a full schedule. A late lunch on the terrace and an evening by the pool covers it.
Day two — the city, then back
Udaipur city — City Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake, the old city lanes — is about 25 minutes away. Go in the late morning, avoid the midday heat, and be back at the villa well before sunset. That's when Niva is at its best: golden light on the hills, and a bonfire once it cools down.
Day three — slow morning, late checkout
Breakfast on the terrace, a last walk around the courtyard, checkout whenever you're ready rather than by the clock.
What to bring
Light layers — mornings and evenings in the hills are cooler than the city. Everything else — towels, breakfast, the pool — is already there.
